Our caviar is naturally preserved with a 3.5% salt content and is vacuum sealed to protect the caviar from being exposed to moisture and air. In the original vacuum seal, our caviar can last for up to 4 weeks in a standard household refrigerator. Once the tin of caviar is opened, the remaining caviar should be enjoyed within 2 - 3 days. Caviar should be kept in the back of your refrigerator (where it is coldest). Do not freeze.
While it doesn't need to be a "special" spoon, it does need to be non-reactive, so no metal. Check out our pantry for a classic caviar spoon made from mother-of-pearl. Wooden and plastic spoons are also an option in a pinch.
All of our caviar is gluten-free and we have some delicious offerings in our pantry that are perfect for our GF fam, such as the baked potato chips and crackers. We do offer vegan caviar, made from seaweed. We strive to include all our friends at the party.
In 2004 by order of the United States Fish & Wildlife Authority, wild caviar was declared illegal to import into the USA in an effort to protect endangered, prehistoric sturgeon species like Beluga, Osetra, and Sevruga. Subsequently, producers from around the world created and perfected the art of sturgeon farming. All Caviar Dream products are sourced from producers whose operations and business practices are aligned with our commitment to sustainability. The only wild sturgeon fishing that is legally permissible in the United States is that of the wild, domestic Hackleback and Paddlefish sturgeon varieties, under the controlled fishing license program. Our smoked trout roe and vegan, seaweed-based "caviar" are also sustainably farmed in Denmark. Caviar Dream loves our planet.
